Western’s Jeff Carroll Awarded More than $1.2 Million in Pair of Grants to Research Huntington’s Disease
Western Washington University Assistant Professor of Psychology Jeff Carroll has secured a pair of grants for more than $1.2 million to assist in his continuing research into the causes and potential treatments for Huntington’s disease, a fatal genetic degenerative brain disorder.
Hud Hudson, professor of Philosophy at Western Washington University, will give a talk titled “A Critical Evaluation of the Fine-Tuning Argument for the Existence of God” from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, in the Bellingham City Council Chambers.
The lecture is part of the WWU College of Humanities and Social Sciences Dean’s Lecture Series and is co-sponsored by the City of Bellingham, which is free and open to the public.
Sheila Webb, a professor in the Department of Journalism at Western Washington University, had her research article on Life magazine, "Creating Life: America’s Most Potent Editorial Force," published in the latest issue of "Journalism & Communication Monographs."
Western Washington University’s Linguistics Club will host Professor of Linguistics Ed Vajda to discuss the Ket language and his fieldwork in Siberia from 4-5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, in Miller Hall Room 152 on the WWU campus.
