About

Dr. Bill Smith taught for WWU's English Department from 1990-2011. 

As a writing program administrator, Bill Smith taught primarily composition including professional & technical writing, legal writing, and teaching composition in the 2-year college. He frequently taught Shakespeare & his contemporaries, the horror film, and disability studies.

With Eric Gould and Bob DiYanni he co-authored The Art of Reading (McGraw-Hill) and The Act of Writing (Random House). Recently he shifted from academic to fiction writing with “Telling’ Tales” and The Voting Dead Project.

He assists local non-profits with grant searches and serves on the Growing Veterans’ Board of Directors.
