Sean Golden, PhD
he/him/his, Assistant Professor
About
Dr. Golden comes from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities as a fugitive pedagogue. A right handed Aquarius from Long Beach, California, he inherited his adventurous spirit from his mother and grandmother who crossed oceans, and his love for stories and storytelling from his father who always encouraged him to explore far off worlds. He is a fugitive pedagogue fully embracing the praxis of fugitivity to create more liberatory learning spaces by examining how Black and Queer characters from children's and young adult literature have also embraced the praxis to break away from the chains of a colonial narrative which has deemed them as monstrous and inferior. Dr. Golden believes we must lean into an antidisciplinary line of thinking to create public facing scholarship so that the general public can also be involved in dreaming up more holistic ways of living in this world so that we can create a society that embraces nature, play, growth, and love.
