About
Andy Rafael Aguilera received his PhD in history from the University of Michigan as well as a graduate certificate in Latina/o studies from the Department of American Culture. His current research explores the conservative politics of Mexicans and Mexican Americans during the eras of the U.S.-Mexico War (1846-1848) and Mexican Revolution (1910-1920). This work has been supported by the School for Advanced Research, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Western History Association. Prior to coming to Western, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor in American Studies at Dickinson College, where he taught courses on race and ethnicity in the United States and Latine/x studies.
