The Colombian government ratified a peace deal with the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) in late 2016, ending one of the longest running civil wars in modern history. What will the new peace look like, and will it be peaceful? Examining the aftermath of peace accords elsewhere in Latin America gives us helpful, if not entirely optimistic, insights.
