The research Dr. Franks has been involved with has largely focused on physical education teacher education (PETE), specifically; physical education cooperating teachers perceptions of preparedness during the student teaching experience and self-study research. Her professional goal is to advocate for quality health and physical education in schools, and to do her part in preparing the next generation of health and physical educators to teach in K-12 school settings.
