Research and teaching interests

Sociolinguistics. Romance languages. Morphosyntax. Spanish linguistics. Language contact. Spanish as a heritage language in the United States, particularly the U.S.-Mexico border area. Morpho-syntactic properties of Spanish (such as subjunctive) that may be vulnerable to language contact. Discourse-pragmatics (discourse markers)
