Classical Studies

Minor

The WWU Classical Studies Program offers two types of minors to students: Classical Studies and Classical Languages.

 

Students interested in minoring in Classical Studies or Languages should contact Eduardo Engelsing/ MH122C/ 650-7964/ WF 1:00-2:00 and 4:00-5:00/ eduardo.engelsing@wwu.edu. The Classical Languages minor requires 12 credits above the 100-level and the Classical Studies minor requires 27 credits approved under advisement.  Below is a suggested course of study for aspiring minors.

 

Language Minors:     12 credits above the 100-level; GPA of 2.50 or above in minor courses

 

Classical Studies Minors:    27 credits; GPA of 2.50 or above in minor courses

                                        CLST 260, 270, and 350

                                        Remaining credits drawn from CLST 450; HIST 413; PHIL 364; A/HI 220

 

Language Minor – Latin or Greek

  • 12 credits above the 100 level
  • GPA of 2.50 or above in minor courses

Minor – Classical Studies

Required Courses:

  • 27 credits
  • GPA of 2.50 or above in minor courses
  • CLST 260, 270, and 350
  • The remaining credits from: CLST 450; HIST 313; PHIL 364; A/HI 220
