The Washington Coalition for Open Government is hosting an Open Government Town Hall on campus Sunday, Oct. 9. 

A mini Info Fair will begin at 10 a.m. and the program at 10:30 a.m. It's in CF115.

 

One of the two sessions features WWU journalism alumni Asia Fields and Erasmus Baxter, sharing their story of using the Public Records Act (and going to court) to get records from Western about the university's handling of sexual harassment and violence incidents.

 

Session two is a panel, "Informed citizens are engaged citizens." Participants include representatives of the League of Women Voters, WashCOG, the ASWWU Office of Civic Engagement, the Munro Institute and Cathy Wineinger of the WWU Political Science Department.  Moderator is George Erb, journalism instructor and WashCOG board member.
