Munro 2026 Seminar for Civic Education: America 250: Lessons and Legacies of the American Revolution

The Ralph Munro 2026 Seminar for Civic Education will be held at Western Washington University on October 15-16.  

In honor of the semiquincentennial, the theme this year is America 250: Lessons and Legacies of the American Revolution.  Nationally recognized scholar and historian, Joanne Freeman, will give a keynote address, Taking a Stand: The Force of Revolution, on Thursday, October 15 at 5:00 pm.  

On Friday, October 16 there will be two panel presentations: Preventing Unchecked Power: Legislatures and Liberty From the Founding to Today (1:00-2:30 pm) and Subjects to Citizens: Civic Action and Social Change (3:00-4:30 pm) featuring historians and political scientists from across the country.  Please join us for these informative and timely presentations.

All events will be held in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room and are free and open to the public.
