Ralph Miner

Professor Emeritus (1970-2000), In Memoriam

About

Originally from Babylon, New York, Ralph Miner earned his master and doctoral degrees in Political Science from the University of Oregon.  In 1970 he accepted a faculty position at Western Washington University, where he taught for more than 30 years and chaired the Political Science department.  He retired in 2000 and passed away in 2021.  The department is grateful for his many contributions to the department.  As one colleague put it, Ralph was “an exemplary person in so many respects. As a teacher, public servant and active citizen, Ralph embodied the very essence of what democracy and civic-minded communities are all about.”
