Review Process
Each application is reviewed and ranked based on:
- GPA
- Statement of Purpose
- Reference Letters
Waitlist Process
- Accept status is offered to applicants on the waitlist as seats become available due to admit declines.
- Applicants on the waitlist will be notified when the cohort is full.
- Our waitlist is not ranked; therefore, we will not be able to field questions about individual chances for admission.
Financial Information for Accepted Students
Currently the SLHS Department has 3 full-time (e.g. 20 hours per week, 2/3 tuition waiver, about $2000/month stipend) and 6 part-time (e.g. 10 hours per week, 1/3 tuition waiver, about $1000 per month stipend) teaching assistantships (TA).
Generally speaking, 1st year graduate students do not receive a TA for Fall quarter. They make application during Fall quarter and may be awarded Teaching Assistantships based on faculty need and student’s skills. We offer a select number of Teaching Assistantships as a component of our initial admittance offer.
If you qualify for work study funding, we do have limited opportunities to work with faculty in the department. Your financial aid status will be determined by filling out the FAFSA. Scholarships
There are many scholarships available for both Undergraduate and Graduate students through the Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences Department. There are also a number of external scholarship opportunities for students of these programs.
