About

Anne Tuominen teaching specialties include foundational and upper-level sociology courses (family, religion), college success courses, and eLearning.  Her research interests have included multicultural families and language choices, and the effects of cultural change; her dissertation research on tourism and post-Soviet change in Estonia was supported by two years of a US Dept. of Education FLAS fellowship and added to the small trove of languages that she speaks.  She has held a post-doctoral sociology lectureship at the UW and is a long-time online instructor for UW Professional and Continuing Education.  In 2015, she received the Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Service Award from Cascadia College where she also teaches.  She has been teaching online for Western since 2013.
