About Kinesiology

INTERESTED IN DECLARING A KINESIOLOGY MAJOR?  See the information in the “Advising” and “Major Application and Declaration Procedures” section of the menu. 

Kinesiology degree completion prepares students for clinical or research graduate school programs or for careers as health fitness instructors in agencies, schools, industries, hospitals and health care facilities. Students are expected to perform community service in all programs. The specializations offered include the following:

GREAT NEWS for Pre-Physical Therapy Students! WWU and Tufts University Physical Therapy program have an agreement that allows WWU students who complete a degree with a major in Kinesiology or Public Health to have guaranteed acceptance into the Tufts University Doctor of Physical Therapy hybrid program, as long as the student completes the required prerequisite courses with the required grade level, and they fulfill Tufts program application requirements, including successful completion of a video interview.
