Learn Differently, Think Differently!
Global Humanities and Religions at Western Washington offers a program of learning unlike the ordinary.
The department serves the university and the larger community with a holistic program of interdisciplinary teaching, learning, and scholarship in the humanities.
To our students we impart a knowledge of the world’s key canons, together with an ability to read texts with a critical eye, explore their multiple layers of meaning, and understand the worlds from which they came. In this way, they gain a fuller understanding of their own world and new confidence to move through it.
From our program come broad-minded and well-educated citizens, who, with active minds, build their own successful lives, and, in a positive way, change the lives of others.
