D’Angelo Bridges is an Assistant Professor of English Composition and Rhetoric. He earned a Ph.D. in English and African American & Diaspora Studies from The Pennsylvania State University. He holds a B.A. in English Creative Writing and M.A. in English Composition from California State University, San Bernardino. He studies at the intersections of race, rhetoric, literature, and religious practice. His scholarship elucidates the rhetorical strategies African Americans use to survive the constant barrage of anti-Black violence they encounter in their daily lives; specifically, he investigates the formation of African American rhetorical identities through prophetic religious discourse and literary culture. His work has appeared in journals such as Philosophy and Rhetoric.
