Jean Y. Lee is a scholar of Caribbean and Asian American literature. She specializes in Indo-Caribbean and Afro-Caribbean feminisms. Her research focuses on how women's identities are formed by multiple and often competing loyalties and affiliations in the context of diaspora and migration. She has taught courses on Black feminist theory and literature, Queer Caribbean theory and literature, the Black Atlantic in WW2, African American literature, and literary theory.
