2025-26 Admissions & Advising TA

I am a first-generation college student and a daughter of immigrants. I received a BA in Psychology and a minor in Special Education from Gonzaga University. In undergrad, I worked and interned at applied behavior analysis programs for children with autism and ADHD in school and clinical settings. After graduation, I moved back to my hometown of Yakima, WA, and did college and career readiness advising for migrant students across Yakima County. Today, I am pursuing a master’s degree in school counseling. I strive to prepare my future students and clients for success in school, their personal life, relationships, and future. I look forward to chatting and supporting you on your journey! Just stop by and say hi!

Undergraduate Program Coordinator

I earned a BS in psychology and BA in creative writing before building this position in 2018. Since the start, working with students has been by far the most rewarding aspect of my job. Over the years, I have leaned into a motto: "How can I help?" Providing program clarity, options, and support is vital to your success as a student so, please, let me know how I can help.

2025-26 Admissions & Advising TA

I first arrived at WWU as a transfer student in 2008 to study literature and teaching. As a first generation Mexican-American, first generation college student, and young adult, I couldn’t help but wonder…huh? How did I manage to get here? What am I doing? And am I doing it right? I kept putting one foot in front of the other and earned a Bachelors in Literature and Masters in Teaching, and built a career working with youth that centered advocacy and social justice.

15 years later I’ve returned for a Masters in School Counseling. This time as a parent with two young kids, a lot of life experience, and a message for you: Come as you are, you belong, and everything is figure-out-able.

Welcome,

Prospective, Transfer, Interest, Minor, Post-undergrad, and International students!

If you pursue psychology or human development at Western we are your primary advisors until you officially declare the major, at which point you will be paired with a faculty advisor.

The Department of Psychology is large and impacted (the # of students who want to major exceeds space available.) That said, we want to ensure you're able to have your questions answered quickly and efficiently.

Please select the type of advising that serves you best, below. Note: All advising is currently remote.

We look forward to working with you!
