Barbara Ellen Maguire - Veith Family Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2015 by the Veith Family to provide support for students who have a demonstrated financial need and are pursuing academic work in research, internships, or summer projects in the behavioral neurosciences, health sciences including pre-medicine, or computer sciences. This scholarship is awarded in alternate years by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (even years) and the College of Science and Engineer (odd years).

Applicant must be declared in a major within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences or College of Science and Engineering.
Applicant must have financial need as documented by a FAFSA on file with WWU.
Student must have a planned research, internship, or summer project in the behavioral neurosciences, health sciences including pre-medicine, or computer sciences
Applicant must complete and submit the Barbara Ellen Maguire - Veith Family Scholarship Application form.
Included with the application, is a required essay in which the applicant describes how the planned research, internship or summer project will contribute to their education and long-term goals or intended profession.
Applicant must arrange to have at least two Faculty Recommendation Forms submitted on their behalf by faculty of Western Washington University (up to three recommendations can be submitted). Students should submit one Faculty Recommendation Form to each individual.
