Xiaomeng Li, PhD

Assistant professor of Chinese and Applied Linguistics, Chinese major/minor advisor, Affiliated Faculty of Linguistics

About

I am an assistant professor of Chinese Applied Linguistics at Western Washington University.

I got my Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition at Carnegie Mellon University. My research focuses on second language reading and language assessment using a quantitative methodology. I am particularly interested in (1) how cross-linguistic variations affect second language reading development and (2) how different types of language assessments measure, predict, and affect students' language learning process. I offer courses such as Chinese language at different levels, Chinese linguistics, and Chinese grammar.

Feel free to reach out to me at lix21@wwu.edu.
