College of Humanities & Social Sciences

Welcome to Sociology Advising

Need help or information?

Sociology advising is available remotely! (The department office is closed and in person advising is not currently taking place.)

Staff will be working reduced hours this summer.  Please be aware that email and phone inquiry response time may be delayed by 1-2 weeks.  For time sensitive issues, please contact Professor Lynn, the Department Chair.  (

Andrea Osborn is available via email and can also meet with you remotely via Zoom* , Skype for Business* or by phone (360 650-4882).

*All students have access to Skype for Business and Zoom for free.  Through both Zoom and Skype for Business, we can look at the same documents via computer screen.  Looking at the same documents in real time is highly recommended so that understanding of credits and requirements is accurate.

Andrea will be holding remote office hours each week via Zoom during the Academic Year.  During those times, you can meet with Andrea virtually for advising.  For information about joining this Zoom meeting, click here.

Each week during the Academic Year, the Zoom advising drop in hours will be posted below.  You are also welcome to attempt to join the meeting outside of the drop in hours.  If Andrea is online and available, entering the meeting I.D. 840 147 389 will connect you with Andrea.  (See directions here).

Zoom Drop In Advising Hours Will Resume Fall Quarter 2020.

Submit Documents Virtually:

The locked dropbox outside of AH 513 is not being checked at this time.  Please do not submit hard copies of materials there as they will not be seen or processed.  See directions for virtual submission of departmental forms at the following links:
