About

Jenny Nguyen is an applied sociologist and an instructor in the Department of Sociology at WWU. Her PhD in sociology, with an emphasis in race and ethnic inequality, is from the University of Central Florida.  Her research currently focuses on disparities in educational outcomes for children with chronic health conditions. As an applied sociologist, she has worked on many local and national evaluation and technical assistance projects for various agencies and organizations. She is a co-owner of Vega Nguyen Research in Bellingham—a small, women and minority owned business that applies sociological theory and research methods to statistical data analysis, dataset creation, survey design, data collection, and report writing.
